Banda formada en Boone, Carolina del Norte en el verano de 1994, más tarde se mudaron a Portland,Oregon en el invierno de 1996. Con 17 años 800 Octane es una de las bandas mas antigua en Portland. La banda nacio con un grupo de amigos de largo tiempo, estos tenian un interes en comun que era crear canciones agresivas, energicas agregandoles un toque de lo que son las peliculas de terror. A pesar de los discos que poseen, 800 Octane de ha mantenido independientemente y en su mayoría indiferente acerca de las tendencias que han surgido dentro y fuera de los estilos desde sus inicios.
PD: Generalmente no tocan maquillados, disfrasados o dando aspecto de horror a diferencia de otras bandas.
